Psychotherapy & Addiction Recovery

I have trained in and taught courses in psychodynamic psychotherapy, self psychology, and emotional bodywork, and I bring extensive experience in addiction recovery work.

My approach integrates an intuitive understanding of how psychotherapy and addiction recovery programs can work together to support meaningful and lasting change. At times, psychotherapy may stall because a person is caught in an addictive cycle that requires more direct attention and support. Conversely, individuals engaged in recovery often benefit from psychotherapy that helps uncover and work through the deeper emotional patterns and relational dynamics that continue to repeat themselves, even in sobriety.

Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all process. Each person’s needs emerge uniquely and naturally over the course of treatment. Psychotherapy can play an essential role in helping individuals deepen self-understanding, strengthen emotional resilience, and sustain long-term recovery and personal growth.
